Helping Others

Two of our values are Service and Responsibility. We put this into action by raising funds and providing practical help for local, national and internal causes.

Red Nose Day - 17th March 2023

We raised £37 for this great charity which is close to our families' hearts. We all wore something red to show our support.

Jeans for Genes Day - 22nd September 2023

We raised £43.15 for this amazing cause. We all wore a selection of denim to show our appreciation and give back.

Epilepsy Foundation

As always the value of responsibility and service continues to shine through within our community. The untimely death of a cherished parent prompted an outpouring of generosity as we came together to raise £88.50 for the grieving family and a charity close to their heart; Epilepsy Action.

Sports for Schools - 2nd October 2023

We are so proud of our little community here at Waterman and how our value of service and providing for the less fortunate is close to our heart.

We are proud to announce that £766.80 was raised by our energetic children who completed a fun fitness circuit with Olympian and TEAM GB canoeist Eilidh Gibson. We are so grateful to all the families that contributed to this worthy cause to ensure our children receive great support to promote physical activity in school alongside supporting charitable organisation Sports of School to continue their work in supporting schools to find top athletes in a variety of fields to come into schools and train our children to the highest levers.

Pupils in our Year 5/6 class hosted a sale of official merchandise and raised £37.57.

Children In Need - November 2023

NSPCC Number Day - 2nd February 2023

As part of Children's Mental Health Week, pupils took part in dress to express. Pupils took part in several workshops throughout the week and raised £19.93 for this fantastic cause.

Wooden Spoon - The Children's Charity of Rugby

One of our cherished community partners are Wooden Spoon, a national charity who aim to transform children and young peoples lives through the power of rugby. Wooden Spoon focuses on funding life-changing projects across the UK through a dedicated team of volunteers, sharing in an ethos that money raised should support local communities. They are driven by core values of passion, integrity, teamwork and fun. Waterman Primary School, and HEARTS Academy Trust, is proud to be a partner of this fantastic charity. For more information about Wooden Spoon, please visit https://woodenspoon.org.uk/about-us/

Wooden Spoon has had a significant impact on our Waterman community. We are thrilled to share that this academic year Wooden Spoon has fully funded the creation and development of our very own, bespoke sensory room, which we are eternally grateful for. This space has helped to further shape the provision for our children, namely those with special educational needs, and has quickly become very popular amongst all pupils. We would like to thank Wooden Spoon for all of their support in helping us to set up this fantastic resource.
